New Custom Home

Stamport Residence

Jarrell, TX

The Stamport Residence sits in the rural country outside Jarrell — a two-story custom home, modern and open, built on land where the soil has a way of humbling foundations that aren’t designed for it.

The client came in knowing what he wanted, including a construction method we hadn’t used before: a post-tensioned cable slab in place of the typical steel rebar foundation. Cable slabs are engineered to handle expansive Central Texas soils — the kind that shift with moisture and can crack a conventional foundation over time. We hadn’t built one, but we didn’t talk him out of it. We researched it, found subcontractors qualified to do the work, and built it right. The foundation has performed exactly as intended.

That experience shaped how we think about clients who come in with unconventional specifications. Some builders push back on anything outside the standard playbook. We don’t. If you’ve done your research and you want a specific system, material, or method, our job is to take it seriously — look at it, give you an honest opinion, and then find the people who know how to execute it if you want to move forward.

Stamport is a clean two-story on a rural lot, done in 2005. The cable slab is still doing its job.
